多伦多华人社区开展干细胞捐献给亚裔垂危血癌病人一个希望活动

[大中报讯] 包括中国专业人士协会（CPAC）在内的多个亚裔社区组织日前发表公告，呼吁亚裔中青年踊跃参加干细胞捐赠者登记，以拯救多位急需干细胞移植的亚裔血癌病人。

公告说，去年，温哥华Gebbie Hou 侯欣欣患淋巴癌第4期，经化疗但无效，唯一希望是干细胞移植。当时多个华人社区组织合作，协助加拿大血库举办《救救欣欣Gebbie募捐干细胞运动》有了成果，侯欣欣在本年六月下旬接受了干细胞移植。侯欣欣的身体仍然虚弱，正在慢慢康复中。她的家人非常感激华人社区组织去年的行动去协助侯欣欣寻找干细胞配对。

公告指出，但现在仍有67位同类的华裔病患者未找到合适干细胞。他们命悬一线，急需干细胞移植，这其中包括26岁在亚省爱明顿出生的中越混血儿Bille Nguyen。

现今的医学科技十分发达，80%干细胞移植手术只是像捐血一样。对捐赠者的风险降低至近乎零。加拿大血库要求捐赠者是年龄介乎17至35岁，有健康体格、加拿大公民或居民、拥有有效医疗卡、愿意帮助世界上任何白血病患者。

因为遗传基因配对因素所限，Gebbie的干细胞捐赠者差不多必须是华裔人士。华裔捐赠者只占全部捐赠者的6%。白人病者找到适合的机会是80%，但华裔病者则只有20%机会。由於Bille 是中越混血儿，他的干细胞捐赠者差不多必须是越裔或华裔人士。

今年的干细胞募捐活动仍然由多个华人社区组织一同合办、当中包括多伦多天主教华人联会，小丽莎骨髓移植基金会，展望青年领袖培训计划，加拿大华人童军领袖协会，加拿大中国专业人士协会，慈济基金会，燃动青年及其他社区组织。

发起组织呼吁各位年龄介于17-35的华裔或越裔朋友能踊跃参加干细胞捐赠者登记，去成为一个救人一命的真英雄；也希望众多志愿者加入义工队，协助这一项有意义的救人活动。
