中英对照：“元朗事件”显示香港警察不再保护其市民

（大中报/096.ca特稿）：本周，许多香港团体聚集在一起纪念香港7-21“元朗事件”的受害者。他们谴责香港政客，以及那些被人雇佣的、与香港警方合作的暴徒，并将暴徒们钉在历史的耻辱柱上。

This week, many local groups gathered to commemorate the victims of the 7-21 “Yuen Long Attack” in Hong Kong. They also condemned the politicians and hired thugs who collaborated with the Hong Kong Police to perpetuate this despicable and shameful act.

一年前，中共的支持者与三合会合作暴力袭击民主示威者。这些示威者在参加了反引渡法的抗议活动后的回家路上遭到暴力袭击。该事件中至少有45人受伤。

One year ago, the Communist backed collaborators worked with triads to beat up on democratic demonstrators returning to that satellite town from anti-extradition bill protest on Hong Kong Island. At least 45 people were injured in this incident.

证据显示，香港警方事先就知道有人要暴力袭击示威者，警方也许愿意与暴徒合作，并确保整个袭击计划顺理成章。警方采取视而不见，袖手旁观，放任暴徒们在大街和地铁车厢内对市民大打出手。在暴力袭击发生之前，身穿制服的警察从那些手握铁棍和木棍等凶器的暴徒面前消失。尽管有许多视频可以辨认那些暴徒和领头的暴徒，但警方并没有要求受害者去辨认那些肇事者。

Evidence will show that the Hong Kong Police were aware of the entire operation and may well be a willing participant in its planning and execution. Their role was to stand down and fold their hands to allow for the indiscriminate beatings of citizens on the streets and the subway cabins. It was recorded that uniformed police officers walked away from crowds gathering with canes and wooden clubs before the attacks took place. While there were many public video clips identifying the mob members and their leaders, victims were not asked by the police to help in any identification process.

当天下午7时，看到有武装团伙聚集，许多市民打电话报警，但警察在三个多小时才到达现场。即使无法接通举报热线，香港警察呼叫中心从晚上10点至午夜之间仍接到了数千个电话。当成百上千的市民直接到元朗附近的派出所报警时，他们面对的是大门紧锁。

Citizens made calls to the emergency hotline upon seeing the armed group assembling at around 7:00 pm, but police officers arrived more than three hours after initial calls for help were made. The local police call centre received thousands of calls between 10pm and midnight, and some citizens could not connect to the reporting hotline. The police station near Yuen Long shut its gate in response to the hundreds that turned up to report the incident.



一年后，在有数百名暴徒参与的袭击中，只有37人被调查，7人被指控。香港警方根本不重视这场袭击事件，调查也不努力，更无视有人策划袭击。尽管受害者和证人可以认出那些暴徒，但人们不指望警方逮捕更多的暴徒。

Almost a year later, out of the hundreds of attackers, 37 persons were investigated and only 7 were charged. The Hong Kong police is simply not putting any priorities or efforts into this file in which they are accused of collusion involvements. There is little hope that more arrests will be made, despite the identification of responsible individuals by victims and witnesses.

7月21日的元朗事件激发了香港市民废除《引渡法》的决心。令人遗憾的是，2020年7月1日的《国家安全法》（香港版）取代了《引渡法》。国安法把触角扩大到其他国家和他们的公民，这让全世界愤慨。现在美国牵头，其他国家呼应来对抗这一蛮横的法律。

The 7-21 incident served to ignite the will of the Hong Kong people and galvanized their determination to repeal the Extradition Law. Sadly, this is now replaced by the National Security Law (Hong Kong Version) on July 1, 2020. A law that has enraged citizens of the world when it extends its jurisdiction into other countries and their innocent citizens. The US is now taking a lead with other countries to deal with this tyrannical legislation.



很明显，从那年的7月21日其，香港警察不会再为居民提供服务和保护，他们成了那个残酷欺压百姓，早该下台政府的工具。

On 7-21 it becomes evident that the Hong Kong Police no longer serve and protect the residents, they are but instrument for the government to brutalize its residents to prolong an administration that has long passed its expiry date.

来自香港的加拿大公民必须挑起重担，使人们意识到有必要帮助港人摆脱困境，并呼吁世界各国政府惩罚这个极权政府。因为他们不仅危害自己公民的自由，而且在危害全世界人民的自由。

Canadian Citizens of Hong Kong origin must now carry the torch and make everyone aware of the need to help Hong Kong people out of their precarious situation and to call on governments all over the world to punish totalitarian governments that are endangering the freedom of global citizens while undermining the freedom of their own people.

7-21是一个臭名昭著的日子。

7-21 is a day which will live in infamy.
