中英对照：川普铁杆阵营微信忽悠大陆华裔选民

 

 

拥有庞大的并极易受虚假信息愚弄之用户群的微信平台，已沦为中共操纵控制海外华裔，煽动其爱国激情的有利阵地。同时，川普的铁杆阵营也瞄准了WeChat用户群的这一弱点，他们劫持了微信平台大肆鼓动讲普通话的华裔移民支持川普当选，并在这一社交媒体上掀起了华裔川普主义浪潮。

 

With its user base likely falling prey to fake news and misinformation, WeChat is a perfect weapon wielded by the CCP to manipulate the overseas diaspora and obtain their loyalty and commitment. Meanwhile, vocal pro-Trump factions have also exploited WeChat users’ vulnerability, hijacking the platform to mobilize Mandarin-speaking voters for the upcoming election and turning the social media into a hotbed fueling Chinese Trumpism.

 

在2016年美国大选中，WeChat就为川普拉华裔选民的选票立下了汗马功劳。一些Wechat页面通过不断发送反奥巴马移民政策之信息而煽动华裔选民对奥巴马的不满，并为川普拉票助阵，使川普在某些华裔美籍圈中声名鹊起，并在华裔美籍选民中获得了比其共和党前任总统更多的选票。

 

WeChat helped Trump gain ground in the Chinese American community in the 2016 election.  Some Wechat pages drew over 30,000 followers by continuously churning out content that sparked anger towards Obama's immigration policies while encouraging Trump's support. Trump's growing popularity on WeChat saw him winning more votes from Chinese Americans than his Republican predecessor in the previous election. 

 

在这场即将来临的大选中，川普的铁杆阵营再次披甲出战WeChat，势必征服这一人口迅速增长的华裔选民群体。他们战果颇丰，通过几十个微信群迅速催生了一批川普狂热粉丝。在他们占领的WeChat平台上，虚假新闻和不实信息滋生泛滥。一些信息旨在煽动华裔选民群体对民主党的移民和民权行动的仇恨心态，从而加剧了华裔与其他少数族裔的紧张局势，而另一些信息则对川普在新冠瘟疫的大手笔败局强行辩护，并对其“中国病毒论”所煽动的对华裔仇视情绪漠然处之，视而不见。

 

This time around, pro-Trump organizers have again seized the battleground on WeChat, targeting the demographic with the rapidly growing eligible voters. They've created a loud pro-Trump voice by rallying a core group of Chinese Trump fans through dozens of WeChat groups.  Fake news and disinformation have festered there. Some contents intended to inflame resentment against Democrats through immigration and affirmative action, fueling the racial tensions against other minorities. Others defend Trump's spectacular failure in pandemic response while turning a blind eye on the anti-Chinese sentiment fueled by Trump's Chinese virus rhetoric. 

 

更有甚者，这些川普铁杆阵营使用的策略往往是中共的那套把戏，既利用微信用户极易上当、缺乏独立思考和判断能力的弱点。一则称已将11月3日定位2017年暴乱纪念日的假信息在微信上广为流传。加利福尼亚州通过法律准许艾滋病人献血的假新闻也忽悠了一大批缺乏判断力的读者。川普吹嘘的治疗新冠病毒的神奇疗法之文在WeChat上传播后，一名具有工程师学位的大陆移民就毫不犹豫地把根本未经FDA批准的羟氯喹喝了下去。

 

Moreover, most tactics the pro-Trump campaign used copy the CCP's strategy by preying and exploiting WeChat users' vulnerability and their inability to make sound and unbiased judgment. A fake story claiming a national day of violent riots on Nov. 3, 2017 spread widely on WeChat. Fabricated news about California's HIV blood donation law cashed in on a super gullible crowd.  WeChat articles about Trump's boasted coronavirus miracle cure made a first-generation Chinese immigrant with an engineering degree take hydroxychloroquine – an unproven drug for Covid 19. 

 

与未曾受过大学教育的美国本土的川普支持者相比，川普的华裔粉丝大多接受过良好的教育。他们是居住在富裕郊区的移民精英，享有中产阶层地位，并持有洒下汗水而获取成功的保守价值观。但是与那些受过良好教育的美国人士相比，他们在批判性思维，辨别真假，区分正误之能力方面相形见绌。尽管他们已打入北美公司，但却在社会交往方面仍处于族裔隔离状态。虽然他们持有各种学位，但汲取北美政治信息不足，同时缺乏核实信息的能力，因此极易成为反复而广泛传播的虚假新闻和信息的牺牲品。

 

Unlike Trump's support base members who lack a college degree, Trump's WeChat fans are very educated. They are elite immigrants living in affluent suburbs, enjoying middle-class status, and supporting Conservative values of working hard to succeed. However, they pale compared to their educated US counterparts in critical thinking skills and the ability to disentangle fake news from the truth. Despite having a corporate job, they remain socially isolated in ethnic enclaves. Although well-educated, they are ill-informed, lack fact-checking ability, and susceptible to widely and repeatedly spread false news and fabricated content. 

 

作为不实信息和虚假新闻之传播圣地的WeChat将不断地为散发谣言，灌输偏见和煽动大选的利器。具有讽刺意义的是，因其在中共推动的地缘政治所起的作用而曾遭川普政府之禁令威胁的WeChat，却在为帮助假话连篇，毫无诚信的川普继留白宫而扮演着邪恶的角色。不幸的是，在所有这些政治骗局中，大陆海外华裔都屡屡成为被操纵对象和受害者。

 

WeChat, a haven for disinformation and misinformation, will continue to serve as the weapon for spreading rumors, reinforcing bias, and mobilizing political support.  Ironically, the platform that had been the target of the Trump administration's ban – for its role in assisting CCP's geopolitical agenda is now playing an evil part in helping keep the “unscrupulous” Trump in the White House. Unfortunately, the overseas mandarin speakers have become repeated victims in all political deception and manipulation campaigns.
