"Why did their gas stations raise the retail margin from 5 cents per liter in May to 6.5 cents today, and why did they add another 7cents per liter to the premium gas that makes up a quarter of their total sales?"

Crack spread emerged again as gas prices continued to rise while oil prices leveled off. The Russian invasion of Ukraine sent the crude price to $166/barrel in Mar., but it dropped to $126 in Mid April over concerns of the recession. Meanwhile, the gasoline prices have remained at their peak level after climbing in sync with the crude.
